We will celebrate the finale of the festival on 19.10. in the Festsaal Kreuzberg with live music and DJs, whose performance invites us to enjoy and dance.
To kick off the evening, the three winners of the short film competition will be announced. 14 short films compete for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. An independent jury will decide on the winners.
Eniz Aktaş and Şilan Aktaş will musically introduce the evening with live Kurdish music on the guitar. With his performance of Kurdish music, Eniz has been delighting audiences not only in his hometown Iğdir or in the metropolis of Istanbul for many years, but has also accompanied numerous film shootings.
We are also very much looking forward to Süleyman Çarnewa, who collects centuries-old songs in remote Kurdish villages and combines them with the sound and feel of modern Western pop and rock music. The result is a completely unique and stirring sound. A musical journey that we can experience live.
And of course DJ Bariş Cengiz, who already heated up last year at our closing party, must not be missing. Rhythmic and dynamic, he changes folk songs, such as melancholic Alevi music from his homeland or various pop songs from the Near and Middle East, and mixes them with electro beats. Bariş sets swirl and get us moving. "Everyone should dance, no matter what their social status is," says Bariş.
Den krönenden Abschluss des Festivals feiern wir mit euch am 19.10. im Festsaal Kreuzberg mit Live-Musik und DJs, die zum Genießen und Tanzen einladen.
Zur Einleitung des Abends werden die drei Gewinner des Kurzfilmwettbewerbs verkündet. 14 Kurzfilme konkurrieren um den 1., 2., und 3. Platz. Eine unabhängige Jury entscheidet über die Gewinner, die zum Abschluss der Festivalwoche im Festsaal Kreuzberg gekürt werden.
Eniz Aktaş und Şilan Aktaş leiten den Abend musikalisch mit kurdischer Live-Musik an der Gitarre ein. Mit seiner Darbietung kurdischer Musik begeistert Eniz seit vielen Jahren nicht nur das Publikum in seiner Heimat in Iğdir oder in der Metropole Istanbul, sondern begleitete auch schon zahlreiche Filmdrehs.
Wir freuen uns außerdem sehr auf Süleyman Çarnewa, der Jahrhunderte alte Lieder in abgelegenen kurdischen Dörfern sammelt und sie mit dem Sound und Gefühl moderner westlicher Pop- und Rockmusik kombiniert. Das Ergebnis ist ein völlig eigener und mitreißender Sound. Eine musikalische Reise, die wir live erleben dürfen.
Und natürlich darf nicht fehlen DJ Bariş Cengiz, der bereits letztes Jahr auf unserer Abschlussparty eingeheizt hat. Rhythmisch und dynamisch verändert er Volkslieder, etwa melancholische alevitische Musik aus seiner Heimat oder diverse Popsongs aus dem Nahen und Mittleren Osten, und mischt sie mit Elektrobeats. Bariş Sets wirbeln auf und bringen uns in Bewegung. „Jeder Mensch sollte tanzen, ganz egal was sein sozialer Status ist“, sagt Bariş.
