Shiar Abdi
SHIAR ABDI was born in 1973, He left his homeland, Syria, at the age of 20 and first lived in the Netherlands.
In 2005 he came to Germany, where he completed his film directing studies at the Art and Media Ruhr Academy.
Shiar has shot several short films in Germany that have been shown at international festivals ("Mistek ax", "The Surprise", "Jan Deutsch und Sara").
In 2011 he shot his first feature film "MEŞ/LAUF!", which celebrated its world premiere in October 2011 in competition at the Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. The following awards followed:
SHIAR ABDI wurde 1973 geboren. Im Alter von 20 Jahren verließ er seine Heimat Syrien und lebte zunächst in den Niederlanden. Im Jahr 2005 kam er nach Deutschland, wo er sein Regiestudium an der Hochschule für Kunst und Medien Ruhr absolvierte.
Shiar hat in Deutschland mehrere Kurzfilme gedreht, die auf internationalen Festivals gezeigt wurden ("Mistek ax", "The Surprise", "Jan Deutsch und Sara").
